Paper Drama – Basis Level

Kamishibei, literally meaning “paper drama”, is a wooden briefcase that opens its doors and creates a stage in which storyboard cards are inserted. As an extremely versatile, entertaining and captivating storytelling tool, it has been popular in Japanese Kindergartens for a long time. Educators are happy about the integrated approach to learning and revising as well as drama structure and visual art and audiences enjoy it for the sheer entertainment. No surprise that our Kindergarten and Basis Level teachers love to deploy the magic black box in their storytelling lessons, too!
